A Bear is a cryptocurrency trader or investor that believes the price of an asset or market will decline for a prolonged period of time.

Someone who believes this is said to have “bearish” sentiment, or a bearish attitude toward the market and its future price movements.

“Bears” and “Bulls” are terms borrowed from Wall Street and stock trading.

Bears are animals that, when attacking another animal, swipe their claws in a downward motion.

Bulls, on the other hand, fight by thrusting their horns in an upward motion.

These two animals have come to represent the two primary crypto market players battling it out on a daily basis.

The number of buyers (bulls) in the market, at any given moment, are hoping to outnumber the sellers (bears) in the market.
